Gregor Mendel was born on July 22, 1822 in Hyncice, Czechoslovakia and died January 6, 1884. His ancestors were farmers and his father still worked 3 days a week as a serf. Throughout his life, he went to several schools and several Universities. He always displayed a great love of nature, which led to his creating of experiments that would discover many unknown things about genetics and heredity.
